Dr Jane Hiddleston

Dr Jane Hiddleston is Lecturer in French at the University of Oxford, and Fellow of Exeter College. She is a specialist in francophone postcolonial literature and literary theory, and she has written four books: Reinventing Community: Identity and Difference in Late Twentieth-Century Philosophy and Literature in French (Legenda 2005); Assia Djebar: Out of Algeria (Liverpool University Press, 2006); Understanding Postcolonialism (Acumen 2009); Poststructuralism and Postcoloniality: The Anxiety of Theory (Liverpool University Press, 2010). She is currently working on a research project on francophone intellectuals around the time of decolonisation, and has started also thinking about a new project on literature and terrorism.
